The Icon Series is the brain child of Blain Crellin (Photographer).
Last November the idea was simply to use photographs to
raise money for the charity of Blain's choice which is The Salvation Army.
However after encouraging words from John Dalziel (Communications
Director for The Salvation Army) the dream became a reality. A modest
project with an initial plan to photograph a dozen prominent Australians
it has become a huge project spanning 7 months with 22 now agreeing to
be being photographed and 30 corporate sponsors helping to cover costs.
With "The Icon Series", "The Red Shield
Appeal" has a new doner arm to aid the homeless in our society.
The images are black and white, photographed with Hasselblad
camera, on Kodak Plus X film, scanned to 70 Mb and printed to 30 inch
square from The Lamda machine onto colour paper.
